There are two interesting and related stories in Chemistry World today:
https://www.chemistryworld.com/opinion/brethericks-handbook/4012662.article
is an history of Bretherickā°??s handbook which includes the quote in the subject line
and
Rebooted chemical safety database now hosted by ACS https://www.chemistryworld.com/news/rebooted-chemical-safety-database-now-hosted-by-acs/4012674.article
describes the Chemical Safety Library of potential dangerous experiments now being hosted by the CAS branch of the ACS at https://safescience.cas.org
Let me know if you have any questions about this.
